In a society where silence is sometimes louder than the truth, “No Colour Darker Than Black” follows Navid, a young Iranian man struggling with the awakening of his sexual identity in a world that demands conformity. Growing up in a small village where homosexuality is an unimaginable breach of tradition, he is pressured by his mother to leave his home. Navid finds solace among others who share his experiences, yet the constant fear of persecution remains ever-present.
“No Colour Darker Than Black” seeks to raise awareness of the far-reaching human rights violations to which homosexual people are exposed worldwide. Despite geographical distance, the ongoing physical and psychological violence against the LGBTQ+ community is a global reality.
